WHAT IS HOSPICE?

Hospice is a structured system of care assistance designed to meet the special necessities of patients for comfort and soothing care whenever the patient is diagnosed with a severe disease. The specific purpose of hospice is to optimize the condition of life for patients suffering from an incurable disease.

HOSPICE CARE CONSISTS OF:

  • Professional care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Skilled nurses are trained specifically to manage symptoms, monitor medication use, and coordinate the patient’s care plan.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurses to monitor patient’s condition during regularly scheduled visits.
  • Medical Social Workers to assist with counseling, including bereavement counseling and resources for community services.
  • Certified Home Health Aides to provide supportive services specified in the patient’s care plan.
  • Chaplains to provide spiritual and emotional support.
  • Trained Volunteers to provide a special dimension to caring.
  • Therapists help maintain the patient’s functional needs (including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy).
  • Basic medical equipment and supplies according to the patient’s needs.
